Headed by the partner PAOLO CENTORE, the criminal law unit provides strategic support to the tax law and civil law units.
With regard to tax law this unit represents clients both before and during criminal proceedings for violations of tax regulations (tax fraud, invoicing of fictitious transactions, wilful non-disclosure of taxable income, violations of customs laws, etc).
With regard to civil law this unit focuses on defending individuals accused of corporate and business crimes (false company information, commercial fraud, violation of regulations governing the labelling and origin of goods, etc.) and companies charged with liability for wrongdoing committed by their officers and employees.
This unit works in conjunction with the civil law unit in carrying out the audits required for drawing up and updating the codes of conduct and best practices to be implemented in order to avoid companies being made liable for wrongdoing committed as aforesaid by their officers and employees.
